Highlights of the Toyota Highlander
For the new model year, Toyota has replaced the Highlanders V6 engine with a new turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder model. This engine outputs 203 horsepower, is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, and has a fuel economy of 24 mpg combined.
A hybrid powertrain is also available. This powertrain uses a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with two electric motors to produce 243 horsepower. As for its fuel economy, it gets around 36/35 miles per gallon.
Step inside the cabin of the Highlander, and Sun Prairie and Waunakee drivers will discover some new changes as well. The Limited and Platinum trims have a 12.3-inch display and a 12.3-inch digital gauge. While higher trims feature power-folding exterior mirrors and a hands-free power rear liftgate.
For safety, Toyota has equipped every Highlander model with Safety Sense 2.5+. Safety Sense includes forward collision mitigation, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, and a traffic sign reader. Deforest and Verona customers who buy higher trims will find front and rear parking sensors and a surround-view camera system.
