Performance
Powering every Tacoma is a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine. Waunakee drivers can equip the truck with an eight-speed automatic or a six-speed manual transmission. And the engine has varying degrees of power.
Sun Prairie shoppers who purchase the entry-level SR trim will find the Tacoma outputs 228 hp. However, other trims will output 278 horsepower. And in the Tundra i-Force Max, Toyota's new hybrid truck, you'll receive 326 hp.
Toyota hasn't revealed all the Tundra's tow ratings and payload capacities. Toyota has said that, though, models other than the base with an automatic transmission can pull up to 6,500 pounds. As for the i-Force Max, this model can tow up to 6,000 pounds and carry around 1,709 pounds.
Technology
Technology abounds in the new Tacoma model. Standard on Limited trims and above are heated and cooled front seats. The Tacoma also offers Deforest drivers an eight-inch touchscreen in most models and a larger 14.0-inch unit in the Limited. Every model also includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an optional wireless charging pad, and a JBL audio system.
Safety
The new Tacoma has a host of standard driver-assistance technology. These include automatic high beams, forward-collision warning, automated emergency braking, and lane-keeping assist. If you're from the Verona, WI area and want features like blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic, they will cost extra.
