Those being an adhesive layer, urethane and a self-healing, chemically stable, topcoat. This tri-layer construction is more expensive to produce and more challenging to install than the traditional non-top coated films, but the difference in appearance, longevity, durability, and performance is worth every penny. Top layer: elastomeric polymer. The outer layer is a low energy, self-healing, topcoat. Semi-permanent means that, if for any reason the ppf needs to be removed, it can be without damaging the manufacturers original paint.
